Described as an extremely capable student and high achiever – ranking fifth in her year – 11 year old Ji Ying, after finishing her homework, went to the roof of her building and jumped to her death.
Apple Media shows a heart-breaking scene of the young girl’s lifeless arm and her white watch flown off during her fall.
The girl lives with her parents at Sha Tau Kok’s fire service officers married quarters on Fanling Road Highway. Parents say that she did not show any signs of depression or stress but knew that she gave herself a lot of pressure to get good grades.
Students from her school say that they face immense pressure to do well, and homework can take up to four hours to finish each day.
