If you are unhappy at work and thinking of quitting, don’t worry – you are not alone.
According to a Randstad poll, roughly one in four workers in Hong Kong are looking to resign from their jobs, the SCMP reported.
The recruitment firm surveyed more than 7,500 employees in the last quarter of 2014 to find that roughly 24% of those sampled want to leave their current workplace and never come back.
“All organizations need to… offer benefits that appeal to every generation of workers,” said Peter Yu, director of Randstad, to the SCMP.
“Otherwise, they will find their employees looking to move to companies which offer the benefits that suit their needs.”
Among those wanting to leave, 28 percent said that they want to leave because of limited job prospects and 26 percent wanted to leave because of supervisors not acknowledging their work.
Bosses and managers! Take care of your employees, will ya!
However, the most common reason (38 percent) for people wanting to vacate their post was because they are not getting paid enough.
We understand. Hong Kong is not cheap, and people will go where the grass is greener.
