When we shared the dates for Clockenflap 2015 back on Aug. 18, we specifically requested Dolly Parton, Fleetwood Mac and the opposite of Chris Brown on the line-up.
We’ve certainly not got the first two (yet), but it could be said that the third request has already been fulfilled many times over.
The music and arts festival – which will return to the West Kowloon Cultural District from Friday Nov. 27 to Sunday Nov. 29 – today announced a handful of the 150 or so acts expected to play this year.
Here are the ones we’ve heard of and are therefore cool.
The Libertines: An English rock band best-known for its debauched frontman Pete Doherty. (We love you, Pete!)
Damien Rice: A multi-talented Irish singer-songwriter, piano, guitar, percussion and clarinet player. Generally a bit of a musical show off.
Flying Lotus: A.K.A. Steven Ellison, an experimental multi-genre music producer, DJ and rapper from Los Angeles.
Clean Bandit: An annoyingly good-looking English electronic group founded in Cambridge in 2009.
Ratatat: A Brooklyn-based rocktronica duo consisting of Mike Stroud and producer Evan Mast.
Mr. Scruff: A.K.A. Andy Carthy, a slightly old school but still cool British electronic music producer and DJ.
Blackalicious: American hip-hop rap and DJ duo from California, known for their tongue-twisting lyrics and classic beats.
Rachael Yamagata: A dreamy singer-songwriter and pianist from Virginia, U.S.A.
Clockenflap tickets will go on sale via the website on Friday!
