We couldn’t stop watching this awesome Hong Kong animation we stumbled across on YouTube today.
Posted by Hong Kong illustrator Fei Wong, the five-minute ever-evolving piece is a collaboration of work from his latest intake of students.
Although all connected, different parts of the piece are clearly drawn by different hands, all of which seem keen to create something truly Hong Kong.
Of the many very local images depicted, we see a red, white a blue laundry bag, cats fishing in shark fin soup, the Bird Market, the Fish Market, the Rubber Duck, mahjong and milk tea.
There also seems to be some topical scenes in the mix (look out for the tanks), as well as plenty of references we don’t get. Let us know what else you spot!
