It’s been a while since Hong Kong has hosted any large-scale events. Perhaps you’ve missed the rowdy bustle of concerts and outdoor festivals—we sure have.
With new local virus cases averaging in the single digits since October, now is as good a time as any for the introduction of The Grounds, the city’s first socially distanced, COVID-responsible event space.
Located at the Central Harborfront, a short walk from Admiralty station, The Grounds offers entertainment including live music performances, stand-up comedy and movie screenings of family-friendly films like Frozen and The Greatest Showman.
Partnering with athleisure brand lululemon, The Grounds will also host regular fitness and yoga sessions.
Guests will enjoy the events from the comfort of their cozy picket-fenced pod, which holds up to four people. There will also be a safe 1.5m distance between each pod.
Tickets for a session start at $150 per person and can be booked online.
For food, expect a range from banh mi to pies to laksa, all available for ordering via a contactless system. Staff will deliver the food to your pods to reduce mingling and interaction with crowds.
Additional precaution measures are in place too, with temperature checks upon entry and face masks mandatory when outside the pod. Guests also need to fill out a health declaration form when buying tickets.
