Swire Properties’ Community Ambassador Programme is teaming up with charity organisation The Boy’s & Girls’ Club Association of Hong Kong (BGCA) to host the seventh “Books for Love @$10” charity book sale on Apr. 21-24.
Over 100,000 new and second-hand books will be on sale that were either collected from a two-month book drive or donated by Commercial Press, Pearson and Sun Ya Publications.
All proceeds will go towards funding more educational opportunities for children in need.
On the penultimate day of the event (Apr. 23), children can attend free interactive storytelling workshops organised by non-profit organisation Shakespeare4All Hong Kong, premium educational toy local startup TEBie, and a group of senior social workers from BGCA.
The final day is the day to go though, as students, senior citizens and people with disabilities will be eligible for a buy-one-get-one-free discount on this day only. Don’t forget to bring identification!
Big spenders who splash HKD300 or more in one purchase (a.k.a. deep-pocketed boffins), will also be given a HKD20 gift voucher to spend at eslite spectrum bookstore.
In addition to the sale, BGCA and Radio Television Hong Kong will be hosting the semi-finals of the Children Storytelling Competition 2016 on the Sunday.
The sale will take place ArtisTree, Taikoo Place, from 12-8pm daily.
Over HKD510,000 was raised at the event last year, attended by 15,000 visitors.
