Don’t be alarmed if you’re doing your last-minute Christmas Eve shopping at IFC tomorrow and you see some really weird stuff going on. Because there’s some really weird stuff going on.
As part of their Christmas celebrations, everyone’s favourite symbol of capitalism and excess has invited awesome Australian theatre group Angelis Creations to entertain and surprise shoppers.
We don’t want to pick favourites, but we reckon sway pole performer Noah Chorny is going to be the highlight of the show as he defies gravity in the most comical and mind-boggling ways imaginable atop his NASA engineered pole.
Having trained at the Chinese National Circus, Chorny brings a new and exhilarating twist to the traditional art of Chinese pole climbing. If you can’t really imagine it’s that impressive, take a look at this video of one of his IFC performances. Boy, that guy’s got to have some serious abs on him!
Also look out for foot juggler Zoe Robbins, who learnt her rather weird form of acrobatics in Beijing, and slack wire master Solomon Solgit, who started working in the circus in Africa at the age of nine.

Performances will be taking place at the IFC Mall at random times throughout the day up to and including Dec. 26, so you might as well just go hang out there.
Oh, you were planning on doing that anyway? Perfect.
