Show us your tatts! Hong Kong to host 3rd international tattoo convention in Kowloon

Okay, let’s be honest – tattoos don’t really have the best reputation in Hong Kong, especially if you have a giant dragon or phoenix inked over your chest.

Usually, tattoos are vaguely associated with triads or, at best, being the “bad kid” that Hong Kong elders would tut and shake their heads at.

But that hasn’t stopped the International Hong Kong China Tattoo Convention from running their third event in the city, giving an inked-up middle finger to conservative judgment.

The expo will take place at Kowloon Tong (Festival Walk) from Friday Oct. 2 to Sunday Oct. 4.

Rock band Qiu Hong will be playing live as the convention hosts celebrated tattoo artists from Germany, Japan, Malaysia and Hong Kong.

Many artists are opening guest spots for visitors to go under the needle, so if you’ve always thought about getting that giant skull emblazoned on your neck, now’s your chance.

It definitely won’t affect your future employment or relationship prospects.
