Rave of Thrones: Gentle giant ‘Hodor’ to DJ in Hong Kong this weekend!

We’re often told about “giants in the DJing scene” by club promoters pushing their latest nights, but what about an actual DJing giant?

Hodor from Game of Thrones – or at least the dude who plays him – is coming to Hong Kong for a special club night entitled “Rave of Thrones”.

If you’ve got a thing for geeks, this is going to be the place to pick up on Saturday night.

Little known to most, Kristian Nairn – the six-foot-11-inches Irish actor who plays Winterfell’s gentle giant in the HBO hit fantasy series – dabbles in progressive house music when he’s not carrying crippled kids through bleak snowy landscapes.

Out and proud, he was the resident DJ at Kremlin, a gay club in Belfast, for 11 years before taking “Rave of Thrones” to the United States between October and December last year.

He’s also previously worked with the likes of Scissor Sisters, Mylo, Calvin Harris and Alphabeat.

Nairn will now be bringing his deep, thumping set to Hong Kong’s Zuma for the very first time this weekend. We can’t promise he’ll be wearing his overgrown monk costume or that he’ll play an awesome remix of the GoT theme tune, but we sure hope he does both.

DISCLAIMER: Before we get a barrage of angry emails from die-hard Game of Thrones fans, we known Hodor isn’t officially a giant, but it is heavily implied he may have giant ancestry, and there’s a little thing called artistic licence. Google it, geek!
