If sweatiness, subliminal advertising and wearing other people’s sport shoes get your heart pumping, listen up because you’re going to LOVE Nike’s new Hong Kong concept store.
Just opened in Causeway Bay (2 Cleveland Street) and spanning a whopping 6,000 square feet, Nike’s latest boutique offers all the usual retail experience, but it will also act as a meeting point for runners within the soon-to-be-launched Nike+ Running Club Hong Kong.
Perks include free locker storage and running gait analysis, as well as a shoe rental service (ugh!?). C’mon Nike, this isn’t a bowling alley!
There will also be gimmicky Hong Kong-y bits and pieces dotted around the store, like the “Look Right” and “Tram Lane” floor markings and a massive map of the city’s recommended running routes.
You can also sign up to the Nike+ group on WeChat for weekly running activities and training programmes. If this isn’t inspiration, we don’t know what is.
Just make sure you don’t turn up at Adidas. That could be awkward.
