You probably know at this point in your life that vaginas come in all shapes and sizes. If not, you need to visit this exhibition.
Notorious Japanese artist Megumi Igarashi – AKA “Rokudenashiko”, AKA “Bad Girl” – is showcasing her fanny-themed artwork alongside 11 other Japanese and local artists at the “Gender, Genitor and Genitalia” exhibition in Hong Kong this month.

The event, open until Sept. 20 at Woofer Ten, Shanghai Street Art Space in Yau Ma Tei, is inspired by Igarashi’s arrest last July for violating Japanese obscenity laws. If you’re wondering, she emailed a 3D scan of her vagina to supporters of a crowdfunding campaign who paid to make it into a kayka. What else are you going to spend your hard earned cash on?
Igarashi, who insists she only wants to make the visual of vaginas more accessible, was questioned by police for 23 days and is still fighting the charges, reports the SCMP.
Unfortunately, Japanese officials confiscated much of Igarashi’s artwork – and are doing who knows what with it now – but the Yau Ma Tei gallery has still managed to get its hands on a few 3D printouts of lady parts and a multimedia presentation.
Other elements of feminism, censorship and obscenity will be explored elsewhere in the exhibition, which has been curated by Hitomi Hasegawa.

So go get your fill of free vagina. You don’t read that every day!
