Jackie Chan’s 32-year-old son Jaycee was sentenced to six months of prison after pleading guilty to “sheltering others to use drugs” in a Beijing court this morning, reports CNN.
Chan, along with a Taiwanese actor, was detained in August after he was found using drugs in a massage parlour in Beijing. He tested positive for marijuana and the police found the drug in his home.
The Straits Times also reports that he was fined RMB2,000 (HKD2,500).
Apparently the light jail time was given due to Chan’s “good attitude during the arrest” and because of his voluntary confession, according to the newspaper.
We think he can afford the fine, but we’re not sure how he’ll fare in a Chinese prison.
