‘Indecent’ photos in child star’s album draw controversy at Hong Kong Book Fair

Controversy has emerged after a photo album containing some questionable photos of six-year-old child actor Celine Yeung went on sale this year’s Hong Kong Book Fair.

The highly divisive photo book contains an image of Yeung dressed in a top with white underpants, sitting on the floor with her legs open. Another photo shows her raising her bottom in the air while burying her face in a pillow.

The photo album drew criticism from many local news outlets and has even prompted an investigation by the East Kowloon police district, reports DBC.

The book has since been removed from sale at the Hong Kong Book Fair, with publisher Popcorn Publishing apologising for causing trouble for Yeung and her family, reports SCMP.

Yeung is famous in Hong Kong after appearing in a variety of commercials and local TV dramas.

In a post on Yeung’s official Facebook page, her mother stated that she was present during all the photo shoots but was not part of selecting which photos would be published in the album.

The family has also stated that the goal of the album was just to capture snapshot’s of Yeung’s life, and that they have not received any financial compensation from the book, reports Sing Pao.
