If there’s one thing Hongkongers know how to do well, it’s brunching (and yes, we’re using that as a verb). Whatever the weather, whatever the fare, we just can’t get enough of them – but, boy, is brunching an expensive hobby?!
For the last two weekends of May, however, you can ruin all the good work you’ve done on your “summer body” (haha) with Buy 1, Get 1 for 50% brunches courtesy of Hong Kong’s brand new Brunch Weekend.
Note that you don’t have to eat both brunches yourself – you can invite friends – but we’re not in a place to judge you either way.
Brunch Weekend is the inspired new offering from DiningCity, the marvellous folks who also bring us Hong Kong Restaurant Week twice a year.
And you’ll no doubt be pleased to hear that many of the Restaurant Week faves – such as Wooloomooloo Steakhouse, WHISK, La Saison, Popsy Modern Kitchen and FINDS – are signed up for the brunch bonanza, as are a fair few notable newbies.
Bookings can be made right now on www.brunchweekend.hk, where you can check out all the participating restaurants, their menus and their prices. And we suggest you get on it pretty sharpish, as DiningCity is endeavouring to keep numbers low at each venue to ensure a “relaxed” vibe.
Yep, relaxed. That’s the best word to describe the brunches we normally go to.
On that note, we feel it’s rather imperative to tell you that the Buy 1, Get 1 for 50% offer only applies to food (you know, that solid stuff they serve with the champers?). You’ll therefore need to upgrade to the available drinks package to get the full* Hong Kong experience.
