It’s official. British singer-songwriter Ed Sheeran is not coming to Hong Kong.

The 26-year-old announced he is pulling out of several shows from his upcoming Asia tour, after fracturing his wrist and elbow in a cycling injury.

In a post to his 17.5 million Instagram followers, Sheeran posted a picture of his arm in a cast with the following message:

“A visit to my doctors confirmed fractures in my right wrist and left elbow that will leave me unable to perform live concerts for the immediate future.

“Sadly, this means that the following shows will not be able to go ahead as planned: Taipei, Osaka, Seoul, Tokyo and Hong Kong.

I’m waiting to see how the healing progresses before we have to decide on shows beyond that.”

Sheeran, a two-time Grammy winner, plays his concerts solo — using just a guitar and a loop pedal to layer up chart-topping songs like Thinking Out Loud, Sing and Shape of You.

Needless to say, the injuries would make that next to impossible.

An earlier post said that he suffered “a bit of a bicycle accident”Reports from the English press said the incident occurred on Sunday when Sheeran collided with a car in London.
