French artist who painted with drops of dew from the Amazon rainforest to lead ‘jungle’ art walk on Lamma

French artist Valéry Grancher doesn’t like to make life easy on himself. Since beginning his “The Shiwiars Project” a decade ago when he immersed himself with an Amazon tribe of the same name for a month, he has been busily creating watercolour paintings using drops of dew he collected at the time.

WTF indeed.

Yep, painted with drops of dew!

Now presented for the first time in public, Grancher’s paintings will sit alongside videos and installations at Hong Kong’s ever-innovative Mur Nomade gallery as part of Le French May.

But for those wanting to truly understand the inspiration behind the sometimes ironically clichéd “Regression” series, Grancher will lead a “sensory and aesthetical experience of the forest to connect Hong Kong and the Amazon jungle”… on a walk around Lamma island.

The interactive one-day-only art experience will, of course, be peppered with sporadic performances and surprising encounters.
