In cleaner, less crowded places, one can look to the sky and let one’s imagination run wild with the fluffy white clouds or the constellations on a clear night, picturing a face here, an animal there.
So in cities such as ours, where such sights are less common, French artist Thomas Lamadieu decided to make-do with what he got.
Since 2011, the creative Frenchman has been taking photos of the sky in urban neighborhoods around the world, and then drawing on the blank spaces between the structures.

“The sky drawing series really started as a way of playing with my imagination to show how these seemingly empty spaces in the urban environment could be interpreted in different and creative ways,” he told the Independent.

Probably to prove he’s the ultimate hipster, the artist actually still uses Microsoft Paint for the illustrations. (Yes, it still exists.)
“C’est old school, c’est cool,” he said.
Oui, oui, mais bien sûr!
