This ADAPT Asia music showcase brings to Hong Kong international electronic pop artists from South Africa and Denmark — from the electric neon dreamy visuals of Lydmor to the hypnotic weaving of synths, Swahili, and bass of Nonku Phiri, then back to the beautiful and unabashedly dance friendly pop of Asbjørn– it’s a wild musical ride you won’t want to miss!
Hailing from Denmark, Lydmor is an electronic composer and singer-songwriter whose songs are self-described as “post-feminist youth-solo-electronica-singer-songwriter-chill-out beat-music”. In 2018 she performed a roaring set at Clockenflap and is sure to wow audiences again at this performance with her award-winning neon lights visuals.
Asbjørn, known as “the Danish popkid with a relentless determination to dance”, has millions of Youtube views and some high-profile festival slots throughout Europe under his belt. The multi-talented singer, songwriter, musician and producer puts importance to creativity in his music — he is known for extremely personal lyrics and experimental album formats.
Nonku Phiri, the only South African act in this showcase, is known for being one of the most versatile voices in her country’s electronic music landscape, seamlessly moving between house, electronica, RnB and kwaito. She brings her lush and hypnotic house inspired dance set to Hong Kong for the first time.
