Discover the ‘Secrets of the Lost Circus’ in Hong Kong’s sure-to-be-stunning aerial arts show

If you’ve been paying attention at all over the last few years, you’ll be aware that pole, hoop and silk dancing are now officially art forms.

Proving this beyond a doubt will be “Secrets of the Lost Circus”, a joint production between Malaysia’s Viva Circus and Hong Kong’s Aerial Arts Academy, bursting onto the stage next week.

Now enjoying its new and improved second run after a wildly successful premiere in Kuala Lumpur in 2009, the show will see 50 performers, including gymnasts, acrobats, pole, silk, hoop, ballet dancers and more, tell the story of an apocalyptic future in which a lost boy finds himself in a ruined city… which just happens to be full of beautiful dancers.

The show will also feature various multimedia elements, which will apparently make it “Hong Kong’s first multimedia circus dance”.

There’s a first time for everything, we suppose.

If you’re not completely hypnotised into oblivion by the wonders of this enchanting world, keep your eyes peeled for world-renowned pole dancer Polina “The Pink Puma” Volchek and actress/singer Marsha Yuan.

We’re dubbing this the Cavalia without horses: beautiful without any concerns over animal welfare… we hope.
