Despite the fact that it feels like Harilela House’s basement enclave only just revealed its latest incarnation, oma is already marking its second anniversary this weekend. Their just passed New Year’s Eve do saw hardcore partiers staying until 8am, so you better get your game face on – there’s no room for the meek or mild at oma.

While Bundick made a name for himself with R&B and funk inspired chillwave albums, he spoke of being “straight up tired” of the sound back in 2013. His new album, “What For?”, marks a further departure from the genre with a more rock inspired, guitar driven sound that was first explored in 2013’s “Anything in Return”.
Toro y Moi will be supported by ambient/trip-hop duo Arms and Sleepers, as well as local band ni.ne.mo. Immense demand for the event has seen all advance tickets sell out on Ticketflap, as well as brick and mortar vendors. There will be 50 student tickets and 50 regular tickets available on the night, but you’ve got to be quick!

Ladybeard, a 6 foot tall Australian wrestler, singer and “crossplayer” is returning to Hong Kong to debut his new “idol show”. The gender crossing Aussie was known for cosplaying as a five-year-old girl and singing metal versions of Cantopop songs when he lived in Hong Kong, but has since developed his act into a fully fledged show.
Ladybeard has been credited with the creation of “kawaii-core”, a cross between kawaii and hardcore, which kind of sounds like the modern Asian answer to 90’s kinderwhore that nobody asked for. For fans of Babymetal, cosplay, and all things kawaii.
