It’s freezing, crap music is playing in the shops, and your calendar is wall-to-wall boozy events from now until January. There’s no denying it anymore – it’s officially almost Christmas!
What better way to get in the festive spirit than by enjoying a good old singsong, quaffing loads of yummy food and drink, and giving to the needy while you’re at it. After all, ‘tis the season to be jolly (and chubby).
Quintessentially Lifestyle (a global private members club) is bringing something truly magical to Hong Kong next Monday (Dec. 8). Following the success of the annual “The Fayre of St James” carol concert in London, the Hong Kong rendition, “The Fayre of St John’s”, is set to take place from 7pm to 8:30pm at, you guessed it, St John’s Cathedral in Central.
Treading in the event’s traditional footsteps, the festive frenzy will begin with a live carol concert with special recitals, performances and readings from (secret) celebrity guests. To get your showbiz saliva flowing, famous faces showing up at previous London concerts include Pixie Lott, Pippa Middleton, Laura Mvula and Penelope Wilton. Swoon!

Donations to attend start from HKD2,500, with total net proceeds going directly towards Maggie’s Cancer Caring Centre, a charitable organisation offering professional services to help individuals and families cope with cancer diagnosis. Unlike traditional medical facilities, the centre provides a place for patients to rest and support one another through group gatherings and activities.
Of course, the evening won’t end without a good knees-up in the form of a private afterparty for 500 guests at modern Chinese restaurant Mott 32. There you’ll be treated to exclusive entertainment, a silent auction, “unique experiences” and, of course, a sled-load of festive canapés and drinks.
So to end the year on an all ’round positive note, email maggies@quintessentially.com to book your spot at this Christmas cracker of a party.
