What miserable news, Hong Kong is one of the unhappiest places in the region. According to an American think tank, people in China and Taiwan lead a happier life than their neighbours in Hong Kong.
Research by the Cato Institute ranked Hong Kong No. 76 on the Misery Index. China is ranked No. 82, while Taiwan comes in at No.88.
The list is ranked from worst to best.
The most miserable country in the world, according to the index, is Venezuela and the least miserable country is Japan.
The cause of our misery is attributed to high interest rates, which supposedly makes us more miserable than Taiwan dealing with high unemployment or China’s real GDP growth, reports Apple Daily.
