VIDEO: World champion extreme mountain runner visits Hong Kong, runs up mountains

American athlete Stevie Kramer was the 2013 women’s World Champion and 2014 women’s first runner-up in a type of skyrunning race called the Vertical Kilometre (known by those in the know as the VK).

Skyrunning, if you haven’t heard of it, is a sport that basically consists of racing up a mountain, while the VK involves running up a shorter segment of mountain really, really fast. How fun! We love the feeling of our lungs almost collapsing and of our hearts practically exploding.

Kramer recently visited Hong Kong to check out our city’s beautiful mountains and to give local runners some training pointers for upcoming races, including the MSIG HK50 organised by Action Asia. She climbed , sorry ran, up two mountains within her first day of being here. Check out this madness, although it does look pretty rewarding!
