Did you know there are some unfortunate souls in the world who have never tasted Hong Kong desserts? They’re mainly clueless Americans, of course.
To right this wrong, BuzzFeed produced this video of clueless Americans trying Hong Kong desserts for the first time.
Here’s some of the most endearingly American things they said about the pride of joy of our sweets selection”
Jin Deui – Sesame Balls
It’s a very interactive dessert, which I like. You have to pick it up and, like, play with it, and, like, squish it, and pull it apart. It’s fun!
Hak Zi Ma Wu – Black Sesame Soup
That’s weird. I’m not used to having soup for dessert.
It has an interesting texture. It’s like tea, with stuff at the bottom.
Mong Gwo Bou Din – Mango Pudding
The texture is right in the middle of pudding and jello.
It tastes good but it’s also a lot of fun!
Sai Mai Lo – Sago in Coconut Milk
It’s like a little party in your mouth!
It smells bomb!
This is, like, the freshest dessert of all time!
We’re glad you enjoyed them, guys. Welcome to dessert civilisation.
