Veda to reopen December: A new Veda – fresh new interior, lush terrace and flavourful food

PRESENTED BY

Veda, Hong Kong’s first-ever flagship hotel vegetarian restaurant, is inviting guests to join them in a celebration of the Earth and all that comes with it. Reopening this December, the restaurant’s chefs once again champion minimally processed vegetables that still manage rich and bold flavors. Throughout November, they renovated their two-story space in Ovolo Central and added a refreshed dog-friendly terrace—so bring the pups!

The restaurant led the charge in Ovolo Group’s global “Year of the Veg” initiative, and plans to continue to set the local standard for conscious vegetarian dining thanks in part to a partnership with sustainability consultant Food Made Good, a global organization that aims to accelerate the restaurant industry’s sustainable food practices by connecting sustainable producers with restaurants. The partnership with Veda aims to minimalize kitchen waste and increase the use of sustainable materials wherever possible.

To accompany their reopening, the restaurant has unveiled a new Champagne brunch, featuring a live free flow dosa bar. There is also an enhanced breakfast offering, including   coffee from Koko Coffee Roasters and tea from Man Cha, as well as a new pastry counter with baked goods from Alive Food—which produces artisanal fermented products that is 100% Hong Kong made and free of preservatives and additives. There is also a brand new cocktail experience and a dog-friendly happy hour. Food wise, you’re looking at seasonal bites and a few big plates on the a la carte menu. Right now, you can expect the likes of “Caesar Goes Veg”, which uses tahini to replace anchovies in the dressing and crispy baked tofu croutons, or a gluten-free Paneer Tikka “Escabeche” that fuses traditional paneer makhani with the piquant flavours that define escabeche dishes.

A new, fully stocked bar on the upper floor is accompanied by a one-of-a-kind cocktail experience that reinforces Veda’s reputation as a must-visit cocktail destination. With the restaurant’s name deriving from the Sanskrit word vid, meaning “to know”, master mixologist and Diageo World Class Hong Kong and Macau Bartender of the Year 2021, Art Fatkullin, has created a new library-inspired cocktail menu that will tickle the imagination of even the most seasoned cocktail aficionados.

Those wishing to enjoy al fresco cocktails or drinks can visit Veda’s new terrace—an urban oasis nestled among Central’s skyscrapers. Rife with greenery and plants, it’s the perfect place to bring dogs and let them enjoy “Puppy Hour”, available every day from 3-8pm, because dogs deserve happy hour just as much as people do. This dog-focused happy hour offers pooches an exclusive Puptails “Ovolo Negrowli” and healthy Buddy Bites Treats packed with prebiotics to support intestinal health.
