T.P., or not T.P.: Local bakery rolls out toilet paper cake

Well, it’s good to know that even in times of crisis, Hong Kong companies will spare no time when it comes to cashing in on trends. Saint Honore Cake Shop, one of the biggest bakery chains in Hong Kong just unveiled its latest creation: a toilet roll-shaped sponge cake.

Toilet paper cakes first gained international attention when a bakery in Finland started selling them as a tongue-in-cheek way to stay afloat. In the last week, toilet roll cakes have become a global phenomenon, with bakeries in Singapore, the United States, and now Hong Kong jumping on the bog roll bandwagon.

The cakes, which are HKD68 each, will be available starting tomorrow at Saint Honore stores in Chai Wan, Lam Tin, Tai Po, Tsuen Wan, and Tung Chung. You can also pre-order them at any of their citywide stores, or order them online. If you place an order before the end of the month, you can even get HKD10 off using the discount code “STAYHOME10“. Loo-vely.
