Ladies, gents, and the whole spectrum of human sexuality, it’s time to bring the sass as Hong Kong promises to paint the town rainbow in honour of Pink Season 2014. There’s plenty in store for all.
Tag-lining as ‘Pink Plus Arts & Culture, Pink Plus Sports & Wellness and Pink Plus Social Events’, this year’s festival features a wide range of activities and parties envisioned around the theme.
Especially, keep an eye out for the Mr Gay Hong Kong Grand Finale at Armani Prive on the Oct. 18, Floatilla – Hong Kong’s Party on the Water, vaguely “somewhere at sea” on Oct. 19, and the Out in the Open – Pink Season Closing Party at Shek-O Main Beach on Nov. 2.

Now in its fourth year, this seven-week long celebration promotes the city’s LGBT community in all its glitzy glory. Hosted by the Pink Alliance, the one of the city’s most widely recognised non-profit LGBT organisations, the festival aims to bring positive change on the national LGBT forefront and campaigns for equality through cultural activism.
For the duration of this pink-mania, select clubs and bars who support the LGBT community will partake in the ‘FAB’ scheme, whereby special discounts and promotions will be offered to patrons with Pink Season flyers and cards. How fabulous!
The cherry on the top? This year, Pink Season has partnered with AIDS CONCERN to promote health and wellbeing within the city’s gay community and beyond.
John Erni, Pink Alliance’s Chairperson, says, “Pink Alliance is proud to nurture and support the local LGBT community and make Hong Kong one of the most LGBT-friendly cities in all of Asia.”
Amen to that!
