Chino Latino @ Picada
For those who want to have a non-traditional Chinese New year meal, Picado have a special Chinese and Latino fusion food banquet menu that will run from Monday to Saturday. The menu will include foods such as Colombian Sancocho Xiao Long Bao, homemade Chino Latino bread with black garlic butter, grilled Argentine steak ribeye live pressed with herb iron, and crispy suckling pig calentado steeped in tequila syrup. Availability is limited so do book ahead. Price is HK$888 per couple, which includes a glass of Chilean red wine each, or HK$1,288 which includes a bottle of red wine or champagne.

Saturday Salsa @ Picada
Also at Picada over Chinese New Year is this Saturday evening salsa night. Music will be provided by DJ SalsaGodfather and there will be live percussion with The Tropishow. Admission is free, and dress code is “Chinese Costume to Impress…”, whatever that means…

SNL celebrates Chinese New Year @ Saturday Night Live Salsa Party
Speaking of salsa, we’ve all probably said to ourselves every new year “I’m going to take up salsa lessons”, and then ended up not. SNL Salsa Party will kick off the first Saturday of Chinese New Year with one of the biggest salsa parties in Hong Kong. There will be a high quality sound system, an air-conditioned studio, changing rooms, and a huge dance floor with high ceilings. Entrance fee is HK$120 per person, and will include a free lesson 1t 9:30pm. Bring your own drinks.

Chinese New Year Brunch @ Gaucho
Staying with the Latin-American vibe, Argentinian restaurant Gaucho will welcome the year of the dog with an indulgent brunch menu that includes a 300g signature Bife de Ancho (rib eye) or Bife de Chorizo (Sirloin), Oven-Baked Sea Bass, Risotto or Boneless Grilled Chicken. For those who want to begin Chinese New Year with a meaty treat, why not try steak house Mr Tomahawk who will serve up a special Chinese New Year Fireworks menu.
