Pro-Palestinian march planned for this Sunday in Wan Chai

“Friends of Palestine HK” is organising a march this Sunday at 2 pm to protest the Israeli offensive on Gaza, which has been continuing for 16 days now. The Facebook event claims that the march is being planned in conjunction with Socialist Action, “Students union”, Refugee Union Hong Kong and Globalization Monitor. The cover photo is shown above.

They plan on marching from Southorn Playground in Wan Chai to the Israeli consulate, which is on Harcourt Road in Admiralty. The organisers tell attendees to wear a keffiyeh or to wear red, green, black and white if they do not have one, and to “bring a small toy to leave at the Israeli Consulate as a memorial to the hundreds of children killed”.

According to the group, they have received authorization from the police to carry out the march.  So far, they have slightly under 200 people who have responded that they were attending the march.
