The Pontiac – Possibly the coolest new bar (and coolest-looking staff) in Hong Kong

After a new watering hole where you can drink yourself into a slump one night, dance on the bar the next, and fantasise about the staff always? Introducing the Pontiac.

Helmed by award-winning bartender Beckaly Franks, the compact new bar – styled on the pubs of Portland, Brooklyn and San Fran – claims to be a culture, not a concept.

With its craft spirits and beers and the First Lady of Mixology at the helm (Franks is the first female to win the the prestigious 42 Below Cocktail World Cup), at least you know your hangover will result from overindulgence rather than a crappy product.

And most importantly for the success of any bar, we can certify that everyone working there is HOT!

Franks has literally just moved to Hong Kong from Portland to open the SoHo bar in collaboration with the Roopchand Brothers, who own Rummin’ Tings and the adjoining Fatty Crab restaurant.

Previously she was head bartender at celebrated restaurant Clyde Common, which has been nominated for numerous awards and featured in the New York Times, Esquire, Playboy and the Wall Street Journal.

We’re sure Franks will just be wetting herself at the idea of adding Coconuts HK to her scrapbook.

Check it out at 13 Old Bailey Street, Central. (Google Maps)
