Hong Kong’s beloved Tsui Wah Restaurant chain, home to cheap (often late-night in the case of Coconuts staffers) eats to generations of Hongkongers, is headed to Singapore.
Brought over in collaboration with Singaporean seafood restaurant outfit Jumbo Group, the opening of Tsui Wah’s eatery in Singapore marks the popular restaurant chain’s first foray into Southeast Asia.
Tsui Wah — which currently has 70 outlets in Hong Kong, Macau, and China — is known for its crispy bun with condensed milk, Hong Kong-style milk tea, fish balls in fish soup, and crispy pork chop bun.
Singapore is no stranger to Hong Kong’s cha chaan tengs — the local name for restaurants serving cheap and cheerful grub — with Honolulu Cafe and Tai Cheong Bakery among those to have already opened in the Lion City.
So far, details are scant as to the Singaporean Tsui Wah’s opening date, location, or menu. So watch this space for updates.
