Nostalgia, meet ice cream. At Igloo Dessert Bar, you can now reminisce your childhood days of yore in every mouthful of White Rabbit candy gelato. Unusual frosty flavors aren’t revolutionary, but they sure are appreciated when you’re hankering for something that isn’t vanilla or chocolate.
For its third anniversary, the Central Pier 7 parlor is whisking old school flavors into its gelato mixtures, with the most popular one being the iconic creamy candy. (Oh, to think back on the ’70s to the ’90s, when a chewy sweet wrapped with edible rice paper was enough to make your day.) So brace yourselves, because the concoction at Igloo, blended with melted milk candy and drizzled with gooey White Rabbit sauce, will probably bring back all the feels.
Other retro flavors on sale this month include Horlicks gelato with Maltesers chunks and malt powder, Ovaltine gelato with KitKat nuggets, and a Hong Kong-style toast gelato with swirls of peanut butter, condensed milk, and sponge cake bits.
Alternatively, if you’re looking for dairy-free options, try the crème brûlée, red velvet or tiramisu tubs made with an almond milk base. And keep an eye out for an upcoming vegan series that features flavors like blood orange, pineapple, lime, coconut water, and dark chocolate.
