There are certain unproven facts about Hong Kong that few living here deny are true: Hong Kong is the best city in the world; we work and play harder than any other nation; and The Butchers Club’s burgers are the best in town.
If you need evidence to support the latter claim, we have it right here. On Friday (April 29), The Butchers Club Burger will continue its domination of the local burger scene by opening its fourth location, this time in Tai Koo Place, Quarry Bay.
In order to get local residents and office workers suitably hooked on the taste of “product-driven integrity and traditional craftsmanship” that earned them a nod in this year’s Michelin Guide, the Club will be hosting a huge block party blowout to mark the opening.
The first session, starting at noon on Friday, will see the team take over the Via Fiori garden at One Island East shopping mall, making it rain with 200 free sliders and free beer until stocks last. The Butchers Club (and Coconuts HK) will not be held responsible for those who attend the event and are subsequently sacked for falling in a boozy slumber/food coma when back at work in the afternoon.
The second session, when you can really let your hair down, starts at 6pm, after which 800 free sliders and free beer will be given out at the same location, all night long. There will also be live graffiti by Annehz (@annywacho), and music from indie/electronic/hip-hop band The Anello, who last year played at Clockenflap and were voted HK’s best band by HKELD.
No RSVP is needed for either sesh. Just turn up and do your worst!
The brand new Bacon n’ Egger
Once the party’s over, however, The Butchers Club Burger will still be offering Quarry Bay customers something a little special. Alongside the Signature dry-aged beef burger with cheddar cheese, maple-glazed bacon and caramelized onions, the QR code-accessible “Secret Menu”, Triple-Cooked Duck Fat Fries, and the existing range of Instagram-courting burger variations, the new Tai Koo Shing outlet will be exclusively launching a brand new Breakfast Menu.
#GameChanger!
Gone are the days when Quarry Bay workers stumble into the office with a sad 7-Eleven sandwich or a wilted croissant. Here are the days when they strut in with a “Bacon n’ Egger” (maple bacon, sunny side up egg, aged cheddar); a “Sausage n’ Egger” (Irish pork sausage patty, sunny side up egg, aged cheddar); a “Veghead” (charred red onion, grilled tomato, hash brown, sunny side up egg, aged cheddar); or a “Red Eye Reduction” (dry-age beef patty, cheddar cheese, maple bacon, sunny side up egg, hash brown, Hollandaise sauce), among other tasty choices.
The new 1,400 sq.ft. restaurant is located on the ground floor of Westland Gardens, Tai Koo Place, 12 Westlands Road, Quarry Bay. There’s room for 70 guests inside and an additional 15 outside, and a separate bar specialising in craft beer.
We’ll see you there. No doubt far too often!
