Souls of Hong Kong: Elaine and Cherie at the Hong Kong Museum of History

SOULS OF HONG KONG – We met secondary school students Elaine and Cherie at the Hong Kong Museum of History. They were at the museum to see A Century of Fashion: Hong Kong Cheongsam Story exhibition, to learn more about the cultural roots.

“We found the exhibition very interesting because our school uniform is a cheongsam, a traditional Chinese dress. Many people may think that a cheongsam is uncomfortable to wear but it’s not true. In fact it’s very easy to wear and we think it looks elegant.”

Souls of Hong Kong is a new Coconuts series of street portrait photography inspired by Brandon Stanton’s Humans of New York. Every human has a story to tell, and we intend to share some from the millions of souls who call Hong Kong home.
