After a government-guaranteed subsidy of their crop didn’t come through as promised, frustrated farmers have been protesting throughout Thailand.
Perhaps frustrated that their complaints have been overshadowed by the urban political malaise, rice farmers will up their game tomorrow by attempting to paralyse transit nationwide.
Farmers are supposed to receive payments under a rice price-pledging program that is several years old. However the program has collapsed, and payments have not gone to the farmers.
