Bangkok’s Suvarnabhumi was ranked the fifth best airport in the category of airports with a scale of 40-50 million passengers per year by Skytrax World Airport Awards 2015.
Suvarnabhumi general manager Sirote Duangratana said the international hub was ranked after airports in Seoul, Munich, Kuala Lumpur, and Madrid.
The Bangkok hub was also ranked as having the 10th Best Airport Staff in Asia, and awarded 26th place of the World’s Top 100 Airports.
The rankings were based on more than 13 million responses compiled online from passengers worldwide through the Worldairportsurvey website, and from telephone questionnaires between June 2015 and January 2016.
State media said the awards were the most prestigious accolades for the airport industry, annually voted by customers on the basis of their satisfaction.
