On Monday, PM Prayuth Chan-ocha thanked Tammasamit “Tao-ey” Nawasettakul, a young boy that suffers from motor neurone disease Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS)—also known as Lou Gehrig’s disease—for a sweet letter of encouragement.
The PM also encouraged the 8-year-old boy to live life to the fullest and be happy.
NNT reported that Prayuth was touched by Tao-ey’s handwritten letter. It was not only a letter of encouragement, but also an invitation for him to watch Gleason, a film about a disabled athlete, together on Saturday.
“Gleason is one of the greatest documentaries that can inspire ALS patients and provide them with more information on how to care for themselves,” he commented.
The PM further praised Tao-ey for his compassion and ability to think of others, regardless of his own condition. He wished for Tao-ey’s health, and hopes that he will soon have a chance to return the support.
Though he sadly had to decline the movie invitation, Prayuth may send one of his staff members to watch the movie with Tao-ey.
