You must dress to depress at Kafka-inspired production

Given the source, it’s no surprise a new play derived from Franz Kafka’s “The Trial” would want an audience more grim than gay.

From now until Feb. 18, Democrazy Theatre Studio presents “The Trial After Kafka’s,” a play by Damkarng Thiapiyasak.

They have requested the audience strictly follow a dress code of dark tones and appropriately grim shoes – no spoiling the mood with sandals, flip-flops or other fun footwear.

It all adds to the atmosphere in watching the play, and people who are not in dark tones may be asked to rent a dark cloak to watch the performance.

The play is in Thai but they are providing English subtitles.
