Police arrested a hospital X-ray technician on Sunday on suspicion of raping a 70-year-old patient.
Chatcharin Kraiwattanapong, who worked at Thung Song Hospital in Nakhon Si Thammarat province, was accused of raping an elderly woman earlier this month while her daughter waited outside.
The woman had gone to the hospital complaining of a stomach ache. Chatcharin, 26, was in charge of bringing the patient into the X-ray room. He asked the daughter to wait outside before giving the patient an injection.
The older woman said at that time she felt weariness and a partial loss of consciousness. When she fully woke, she told her daughter what had happened, and they found the rapist had already escaped, Thairath reported.
