A Singaporean cargo ship crashed through the walkway near Bhumibol II bridge on the outskirts of Bangkok as it tried to find its way home on Sunday.
The Singapore ship “Xetha Bhum” reportedly plowed through the entire 10-meter stretch of the walkway, which was crowded with joggers and residents, and nearly cut it in half on Sunday morning.
Luckily, no one was injured and the ship was only slightly damaged.
Strong tides were blamed for the accident as the ship had left Bangkok’s Khlong Toei Pier and was returning to Singapore, according to boat manager Pichet Po-ngam.
The shipping company will compensate Phra Pradaeng for its wrecked walkway, Khaosod English reported.
