Worker electrocuted to death on billboard

A worker’s body was left hanging upside-down, tangled in power lines after he was electrocuted to death yesterday while installing a new billboard on Soi Ratchapruek 31 in the Taling Chan district.

Police together and utility company staff arrived at the scene to find Sathaporn Yaipan, 24, suspended by wires from the 12-meter steel structure.

According to coworker Thanapan Sungran, 35, four men were assigned to change the advertisement on the board as the deceased worked on the right lower, only one meter away from the electric pole.

Thanapan says he heard explosive sounds. As he looked over, he saw Sathaporn’s body catch fire and fall from the structure.

His body will submitted to Siriraj Hospital for an autopsy, Manager reported.
