Women that travel alone in Bangkok are urged to watch out for a skirt slasher at bus stops following such an incident at the Siam Square area.
Mookrin Srimuang posted photos of a skirt she wore on May 10 to her Facebook account as a warning to all other women that frequent the neighborhood. The cuts in her skirt left two big holes in it.
Mookrin wrote that the incident happened in the morning while she was waiting for a bus with around ten other people on the opposite side of MBK mall. She was not aware of the cut until minutes later.
Police believed that the slasher might have been a mentally unstable person. The wrongdoer will likely face a three-year prison sentence and a fine of less than THB6,000.
