Consider it high-brow nyotaimori without the body sushi but a greater sense of self-awareness.
Artist Shelbatra Jashari will offer her body as a canvas to audiences and passers-by for three hours at Speedy Grandma.
The artist will sit immobilized in the gallery, fully wrapped in and blinded by black canvas as people interact with her and her space as “the doll” to express themselves using her body as a canvas for poetic exploration.
“Writing Piece” is a three-hour performance starting at 5pm on Feb. 27.
