A Chiang Rai woman was crushed to death inside her home during yesterday’s 6.0-magnitude earthquake in Chiang Rai province.

Sang Ringkham, an 83-year-old resident of Mae Lao district, was killed at her home when a wall collapsed onto her, according to Chiang Rai Governor Pongsak Wangsamer.

At Chiang Rai’s airport, cracks appeared in the flight control tower but the runway was undamaged. The flight schedule might be adjusted.

On Twitter, residents in the north of Thailand shared photos of big cracks in buildings and roads and merchandise falling from shelves at local shops.

After the main quake, more than 100 aftershocks ranging from 2.0 – 5.9 magnitude were felt throughout the night in several areas such as in Chiang Rai, Chiang Mai, Phayao, Lampang, and Lamphun provinces, Sanook reported.
