Wily senior escapes gravity of his mortal situation in free screening of Czech film

We tend to be in a hurry to grow up until it happens and then mash the brakes futilely until we die.

Fanda, a terminally ill prankster who refuses to grow up and face responsibility, has always understood this. The central character of 2001’s bittersweet comedy “Autumn Spring,” he ignores his family’s pleas to take life – and death – seriously, and instead spends his days seeking adventure.

Director Jira Maligool has chosen the Czech-made film by Vladimir Michalek to be screened at Cinema Diverse: Director’s Choice July 19.

“It is essentially a kids film played by seniors, therefore it is basically a film for those who are still young at heart!” Jira said.

The film will be presented in Thai with English subtitles at 5:30pm at the Bangkok Art and Culture Centre. Jira will participate in a dialogue with the audience afterward in Thai, with English translation. No reservation is needed.
