A 33-year-old nanny could face prosecution after the young girl she was charged with caring for died last week.
Focus, 3, died after drinking deterent while Chanakarn Churri-orn was outside of the home playing a video game on her phone, police said.
The girl’s parents were at work in a bakery not far from their home.
Chanakarn had left Focus playing with her own daughter inside a bathroom after left a container of dishwashing chemicals in the bathroom for later use.
Although the girl approached the nanny, pointed to her mouth and then coughed up some of the chemical, Chanakarn did not seek help until almost two hours later when Focus’ condition grew worse. At that point she took the girl to her parents, who took her to seek medical help. She died later at Samui Hospital.
Chanakarn has yet to be charged, but police said they will consider going after her for gross negligance leading to death once the autopsy report is completed, Khaosod reported.
