Though it was posted to the interwebs in November, a video clip entitled “The Fall of Ayutthaya” has only in the past week gained widespread popularity, raking in more than 200,000 views.
The clip offers a graphical narration of its namesake historical event. If you don’t speak fluent Thai you risk missing the intricacies of the narrative, but the accompanying graphics offer an interesting outline nonetheless.
The Nation reports that the clip was produced by Kerati Wannalertsiri, a 23-year-old student at King Mongkut’s Institute of Technology, who wanted to find a way to make students engage with history.
