Every year, a group of students come together to create a stunning play that makes audiences laugh and cry.
The Faculty of Communication Arts of Chulalongkorn University presents “The Villa Smaris,” a musical-drama with a splash of comedy that is set in the ‘80s.
The play centers around the owners of a 5-star hotel called The Villa Smaris. But when the hotel is downgraded after a cheap guest house, the Smith Hotel, opens up next door, the owners have no choice but to try and get rid of their neighbor, which leads to conflicts between the owners of the two hotels.
The faculty is known for its abundance of celebrities, and the play will feature some of its famous students. “The Voice” singer Violette Wautier will lend her voice to the musical-drama. Her “CLEO” bachelor brother, Khan Wautier, will model for the play’s photoshoot, along with famous actress Patricia Good. Furthermore, leading actresses Koi and Piano from the TV series “Hormones” will also be in the production.
The play will be on at Scala Cinema, a vintage theater located in the heart of Bangkok, with 10 different showtimes.
Tickets are available now online, with prices ranging from THB250 to THB330.
