It has become a norm for foreign celebrities invited to Thai talk shows to speak a few token words of Thai.
On an episode of the “Woody Show” that aired this Sunday, Will Smith and his son Jaden Smith were asked to express their mutual affection in Thai. However, host Vuthithorn Milintachinda, better known as “Woody,” added an unusual twist into the sentences he taught the pair to speak.
Joong Boey and Phud Phud at the end of both sentences the Smiths spoke are slangs words widely used among Thai hipsters. They mean “very much” in English.
