In a video released today, the 12 boys and their soccer coach thank the people who saved their lives and the rest of the world who poured in support.
Speaking from their hospital beds, after they were safely evacuated from being trapped in Chiang Rai’s Luang Cave for over two weeks, each Wild Boar took turns thanking everyone who took part in the dangerous 18-day rescue operation.
“Thank you for worrying about us and coming to our rescue. Don’t worry. We’re safe now,” said Panumat Saengdee, 13.
Meanwhile, Adul Sam-on, the stateless teen who was widely praised for his ability to communicate in English efficiently when the two UK divers discovered the group, shows off a sentimental drawing of his 12 teammates and Coach Ekaphol Chantawong to the camera.
When asked what sort of food he’s craving the most, Adul simply says, “KFC.”
He goes on in English, “Now I’m very fine. I’m very thank you for help we. Thank you so much.”
Coach Ekaphol, 25, also thanks the Navy SEALs as well as the doctors for taking care of him and the 12 children in the cave.
He spoke of his health condition, “I’m doing fine. I’m strong, and I can eat normally now.”
